Balancing the Wrench and the Code: Funding the MotoMini Dream
Let’s be honest about something: racing isn’t cheap. From the tires to the travel, the entry fees, and keeping the Ohvale GP-2 running perfectly for the FIM MotoMini Canada rounds, the “Checkbook to Checkered Flag” pipeline is very real.
A lot of folks in the paddock at Shannonville or Lombardy ask me how I manage to fund the season and still take the time off to travel to all these rounds. The secret isn’t a trust fund; it’s high-efficiency automation.
When I’m not changing gearing or tracking tire pressures, I run an agency called White Space Design Co.. It’s a specialized, neurodivergent-focused design and tech hub. We don’t do the traditional 50-hour agency grind. Instead, we cap our human hours and focus on delivering high-ticket, productized outcomes for our clients.
To make that math work while I’m out of the office at a track in Quebec, I rely heavily on custom-built AI. By using tools to automate the heavy lifting of coding, video editing (I literally built an AI script to cut my client’s race reels for me), and backend server management, I can keep the business thriving without being chained to a desk.
The code pays for the tires, and the automation buys me the time to be a Race Dad.
