Round 2 of the 2026 Canadian Supermoto Championship took the Ontario paddock east to Circuit Mécaglisse. We were not in it.
I want to be straight about that, because this blog is otherwise written from the paddock, and a Quebec round we have not attended is not something I can tell you about first hand. What follows is what the calendar says and what the riders who go there come back saying — not a race report.
Mécaglisse sits in the Laurentian Mountains, and the thing everyone repeats about it is that it does not feel like a typical Canadian club venue. Grippy asphalt, real elevation change, and dirt sections that connect to the pavement rather than sitting off to one side. For Supermoto Québec and CSM riders it has a reputation as one of the best facilities in the country.
The part I find interesting from a distance is what it asks of a rider. Everything ours ride in Ontario is flat. Adding crests and drops changes where a rider has to be looking, and supermoto’s asphalt-to-dirt transitions punish anyone who wants one consistent feeling from the motorcycle all lap.
Quebec’s motorsport culture is its own draw as well. The province turns out for racing in a way Ontario does not always match, and riders who cross the border for a round tend to talk about the atmosphere as much as the layout.
It is a long tow from here, and it is on the list. When we actually do it, there will be a proper report on this page with our own photographs — and the poutine will be mandatory.
